Tandem Flight and Paragliding School of Champoussin in Val-d’Illiez

The Champoussin paragliding school, opened in December 1985, was the first official in Switzerland.

It is professional and permanent. Few obstacles, an ideal terrain, soft and grassy, suitable equipment, certified instructors, await you to share your first beginnings, your first emotions and above all to develop and satisfy the Icarian taste that lies dormant in you!

Facing the Dents-du-Midi, Champoussin is a privileged place for learning this sport, summer and winter. The new 4-seater Aiguille des Champeys chairlift provides an additional advantage.

Multiple flight possibilities are offered to beginners and advanced paragliders. Indeed, from the Aiguille des Champeys (2’041 m.) And from the Pointe de l’Au (2’150 m) you can fly with different height differences: 300 m, 400 m, 500 m, 1 ‘ 200 m, etc … and thus reach by air other Portes du Soleil resorts such as Les Crosets, Val-d’Illiez or Champéry, leaving unforgettable landscapes a few hundred meters under your feet.

The best way to discover all the sensations of a paragliding flight is to let yourself be taken in a tandem. You will be taken care of by a professional pilot who will be happy to share this unforgettable moment with you.

You can book one or more tandem flights on the date of your choice. Confirmation will be on the morning of the flight depending on local weather conditions.

Booking form for a tandem flight

You don’t become a bird alone … It is in a school that the pupil is taken in hand and gradually brought to the stage of autonomous pilot according to the progression card recognized in all schools in Switzerland.

The Champoussin Paragliding School organizes courses for people interested in this sport. The future pilot has the possibility of establishing a first contact with his new hobby by registering for a half-day or an initiation day where he can make a first attempt to take off on a suitable slope. He may then decide to follow the training in 2 successive levels that the FSVL (Swiss Federation of Free Flight) prescribes.

In addition to practical training, the student receives theoretical instruction in the fields of aerodynamics, meteorology (and micro-meteorology), knowledge of the equipment, flight practice and the regulations concerning paragliding.

The first contact can also be made in a TANDEM flight, for which no minimum or maximum age is prescribed. An unforgettable memory.

What there is to know:

The minimum age for training is 14, with parental permission. A certificate is compulsory for the free practice of this sport. to pass the practical exam for obtaining the license, the minimum age is 16 years old.
